Role purpose
The Migration Consultant will provide information, advice, and application processing for international students and migrants seeking migration, work, study, and sponsorship opportunities in Australia. The role is based in Adelaide, with a national scope, assisting customers and staff with their inquiries in other locations. Your role will also involve training fellow education counsellors and contact center agents on product knowledge and visa updates, as well as supporting their ongoing professional development.

Key accountabilities
• Provide tailored advice on visa options, eligibility, and compliance, managing client expectations.
• Design and execute immigration strategies for individual and corporate clients, ensuring sound commercial and legal solutions.
• Manage client casework and deliver high-quality representation to the Department of Home Affairs and relevant authorities.
• Prepare and lodge visa applications, handle AAT appearances, and manage all migration work with competence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and authorities, driving business development and enhancing the firm’s brand.
• Stay current on migration law, policy, and industry trends, sharing insights with the team.Design and execute immigration strategies for individual and corporate clients, ensuring sound commercial and legal solutions.
• Comply with OMARA’s Code of Conduct and the firm’s risk management practices.
• Lead and mentor migration assistants.
• Participate in industry initiatives to grow the work pipeline and expand strategic partnerships.
Required experience
• Qualified RMA with current MARA registration, at least 1 year of experience in immigration law.
• Proven expertise across various visa subclasses and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal process, ideally managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong team player with experience supervising migration assistants.
• Solid understanding of immigration legislation.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working with diverse clients from different backgrounds.
• Familiarity with Migration Manager or similar client management systems.
