Role purpose
- Product Owners take a high-level view of a portion of the customer value stream, identify needs, and communicate a compelling vision.
- They should be able to develop and maintain a product by operating effectively across multiple stakeholders.
- The Product Owner is a key member of the Agile Squad, providing clarity of customer experience and business and commercial objectives and goals to ensure quality of delivery and outcomes.
Key accountabilities
- Monitor customer behaviours and anticipate needs:
- Keep up to date with emerging trends
- Create, update and maintain customer journey maps.
- Gain a deep understanding of our customer experience
- Uses deep understanding of the customer’s needs
- Plan and facilitate co-design workshops
- Establish a target state and product roadmap in line with IDP’s strategic vision:
- Work closely with Product, CX, global and regional marketing and/or network teams
- Provides input and feedback to Product Managers
- Create and maintain a product delivery roadmap
- Monitor product deliverables
- Collaborates with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Scrum Masters
- Manage stakeholders acting as a central communication between all stakeholders:
- Act as the voice of the customer
- Act as customer advocate
- Lead with understanding of end-to-end customer experience
- Keep pace with our global team’s needs
- Problem solve, consider options and provide clear communication
- Interacts with stakeholders during iteration demonstrations
- Prepare clear briefings to our Digital Adoption teams
- Manage the product backlog solution development and delivery:
- Manages the delivery of business value
- Work to our internal cadence rhythm and squad ceremonies
- Engage with other Product Owners and Product Managers
- Works with other Product Owners and the Product Manager
- Reviews and accepts user stories
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Works with the team to ensure Epics, Stories and tasks
- Define and measure product benefits, evaluate product effectiveness:
- Track and monitor product performance
- Implement appropriate control measures
- Participates in the iteration demo and retrospective meetings
- Lead communities of best practice within your product area
Required Experiences
Required experience

Essential:
- Agile product development and delivery / Agile and/or SAFe experience/certified
- Design thinking and complex workflow optimisation
- Planning, project management, prioritisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Workshop facilitation skills
- Experience with Agile task management tool such as Jira or equivalent
- Ability to assess and articulate business and user value, develop business cases and track benefits realisation
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
- Ability to clearly articulate options, criteria by which to assess and make recommendations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in writing and capturing requirements/ user stories, business processes and customer journeys
- At least 2 years prior experience in Product Owner role or adjacent discipline

Highly Desirable:
- UI/UX design skills and experience
- Data Analysis: Business intelligence and data analysis skills.
- Process Analysis: process and optimisation methods and skills.
- Experience with ideation and co-design tools and methods
- Experience in international student placement or past experience in a similar service industry.
- Previous experience in at least one of the following areas: marketing, sales, customer services or information technology services.
- Experience with vendor management and contract management
- Familiarity with CRO and SEO principles
