Role purpose

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for elevating the marketing analytics practice to achieve a data-driven culture by utilising their data mining skills. They will work on all marketing channels of IDP—web, events, etc.—to support digital analytics initiatives and contribute to IDP’s conversion. This role will be responsible for analysing all types of data to identify areas of opportunity and deliver actionable insights. They will have a strong background in web analytics implementation and data analysis and be able to bring data to life through storytelling and data visualisation.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Track & analyze key metrics (traffic, leads, etc)
  • Measure the success of product launches & marketing campaigns through data analysis
  • Build compelling reports & visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Support user acceptance testing of tracking & tagging to ensure it meets business requirements, maintains integrity & supports internal & client reporting requirements

Forecasting and Planning

  • Collaborate with Marketing Director & Product Manager to forecast key metrics based on existing data & insights
  • Partner with Product & Marketing teams to design & execute A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns & product features.

Digital/customer experience:

  • Leverage data to gain insights into user behavior to drive our user experience, digital & content marketing strategies
  • Understanding of different attribution models to choose the most appropriate one for specific needs

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Partner with key stakeholders, including commercial, product, marketing & client success, to define & communicate business requirements to the data engineering team for tracking & reporting
  • Communicate effectively with technical & non-technical audiences, including writing clear reports, delivering insightful presentations, & explaining complex concepts clearly & concisely
  • Work with the wider team of data analysts to ensure consistency in approach & ensure high quality of reporting is maintained

Key accountabilities

Required experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience as a data analyst with excellent data manipulation, analysis, visualisation and reporting skills
  • Strong experience in manipulating large datasets and exploring using advanced data extraction techniques
  • Intermediate Tableau or equivalent
  • Intermediate SQL Scripting
  • Proficient in Excel or similar
  • Database experience (Redshift/AWS preferable)
  • Eager to learn and continuously develop analytical skillset
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker

Desirable Requirements

  • Education sector experience
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager
