Role purpose

Increasingly IDP has consumption-based services such as Cloud, CaaS, Digital Advertising.  The FinOps Analyst is a financial professional who specialises in methods to optimise and continuously improve the management of these consumption costs.

The Senior FinOps Analyst is part of the Technology Management Office and works closely with Cloud Operations team members, owners of Consumption based SaaS solutions, and technology leadership to establish and maintain the environment for consumption cost optimisation.

Key accountabilities

Required experience

Financial Management Skills

• A strong commercial acumen with a background in business financial operations
• Bachelor's or a Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology Management
• Understanding of the core Finance & Accounting principles, basic understanding of the accounting processes (budgeting, accruals, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience as a technical business analyst or data analyst, Management or Cost Accountant, or FinOps analyst.

Cloud Computing Expertise

• Knowledge and understanding of AWS pricing schemes
• Experience with native and 3rd party AWS cost management & advisory tools (AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Trusted Advisor, Cloudability etc.)
• Data Analysis and Presentation Skills
• Strong skills in using data extraction and manipulation from Vendor portals and data sets.
• Demonstrative SQL, Python and Advanced Excel skills.
• Skilled at producing high-quality PowerPoints as effective communications
