Role purpose

IDP is committed to building a sustainable future and improving the lives of our customers and our people. The purpose of this role is to provide best practice leadership to deliver a sustainability program consistent with broader business objectives. Working with the Group Sustainability Manager and other members of the sustainability team, this role will lead the development and implementation of key sustainability programs across environment, social and governance that will help achieve the objectives of IDP’s sustainability strategy and legislative reporting requirements.

Key accountabilities

Lead strategic sustainability programs across our business

Deliver on the requirements within the sustainability strategy on key focus areas including the execution of key projects as part of the modern slavery program of work, inclusion, diversity and equity and emissions reduction plan.
Provide specialist technical expertise and advice on strategies for managing ESG risks and issues, including leading in-depth discussions with key suppliers relevant to supply chain topics such as human rights and modern slavery and Scope 3 emissions data.
Contribute to governance aspects of the sustainability program including materiality assessments, risk mitigation, reporting / communication and opportunity identification.
Influence, lead and motivate local operations teams in the business to achieve sustainability and business objectives.
Manage sustainability performance and reporting

Oversee the collection, collation and validation of sustainability data and reporting.
Identification and monitoring of appropriate sustainability-related targets and indicators.
Work with data owners and shared services to continuously improve data collection and controls for material data sources in preparation for audit and external assurance.
Oversee overall performance of the organisation and initiates actions as necessary to address performance trends.
Contribute to the development and execution of annual sustainability disclosures working closely with other teams within the Corporate Disclosures Working Group.
Embed sustainability into IDP culture through engagement and education

Drive implementation and integration of sustainability priorities, programs, policies, risks and initiatives to align practices across the organisation.
Integrate sustainability into major projects and key business processes such as procurement, facilities and asset management.
Educate and support regional leaders and the IDP community to continually improve our impact and to integrate broader ESG practices into core business activities.
Engagement with industry associations and peers on ESG matters.
Support IDP to deliver on sustainability objectives and long-term goals

Contribute to the development and implementation of annual sustainability program of work and measurable objectives.
Bring collaboration and innovation to sustainability and champion how we can deliver on net positive impact through our stakeholders and wider industry.
