With a background in delivering insight and consultancy and highly experienced in utilising data analytics and market research to deliver impactful narratives and strategic recommendations, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting consultancy projects for Higher Education institutions and clients across the UK, Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
The successful candidate will have excellent client-facing skills and excel in evaluating business objectives and deriving insight from quantitative and qualitative data to meet these objectives and guide client strategy and planning decisions. The IQ Consultant will play a key role in the dissemination of sector insight, trends and thought leadership initiatives.
Working alongside a team of data and market research analysts, you will be a direct point of contact for external clients across global markets. The IQ consultant is responsible for coordinating data analytics alongside qualitative and quantitative research outputs to produce clear and compelling insight reports that drive strategic change for clients.
A key element of this role is to closely collaborate with the senior consultant and client partnerships teams to evaluate the appropriate methodology for consultancies based on strategic needs.
You must be based in the United Kingdom, will be required to attend the London-based office at least twice a week, and report to our senior consultant on the IQ team.
Key responsibilities:
- Generating insight: Deliver impactful insights and data to strengthen client relationships and support business development. Design and present visually engaging consultancy reports, translating analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Project Management: Lead consultancy projects from design to delivery, ensuring client satisfaction and managing risks. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, coordinating with clients and internal teams to meet objectives and exceed expectations.
- Thought Leadership: Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to derive actionable insights. Stay updated on sector trends and industry news, contributing to thought leadership initiatives and reporting on market developments.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior staff and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address changing business and client needs. Apply industry knowledge to enhance data interpretation and report quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify new commercial opportunities, improve report design, and use statistical analysis to refine research and data output. Stay current with best practices and industry standards.
Required experience
Essential:
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including their strengths, weaknesses, and applications.
- Experience in higher education settings, either in-house or in research consultancy roles.
- Proficient in managing large data sets and using analytical tools to integrate diverse data and insights for client recommendations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail and the ability to present and influence effectively.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including managing research or consultancy projects, resources, timelines, and competing priorities.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to engaging with others and achieving results.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with a strong willingness to learn and adopt new tools and techniques.
Desirable:
- In-depth knowledge and personal experience in international education, including key industry data sources and trends.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and research tools such as Qualtrics,
- Relevant qualifications or accreditations in research, data and analytics.
- Experience on both agency and client sides, including experience in line management roles.
