Role purpose
The Revenue Assurance and Reporting Team Leader is responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s revenue performance by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all revenue-related data, processes, and reporting. In addition to hands-on oversight, this role provides leadership, direction, and quality assurance to a team of analysts, ensuring strong controls, consistent insights, and effective support for commercial decision-making and sustainable financial performance.
Key accountabilities
Revenue Assurance & Controls
• Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of end-to-end revenue assurance controls.
• Provide oversight of investigations into revenue leakages.
• Maintain the revenue controls register.
• Review and approve contracted prices and commissions.
• Escalate material risks with quantified financial impact.
Reporting & Insights
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reporting.
• Review variance analysis and trend insights.
• Ensure dashboards support drill-down and self-service.
• Translate insights into commercial recommendations.
Data Integrity & Reconciliation
• Lead reconciliations between source systems and the GL.
• Oversee exception handling and investigation standards.
• Drive improvements in master data quality.
Stakeholder Management & Enablement
• Act as senior point of contact for revenue assurance matters.
• Align stakeholders on KPIs and controls.
• Present insights through governance forums.
• Lead training on reporting and data quality.
People Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts.
• Set priorities and performance standards.
• Balance BAU and investigative work.
• Foster continuous improvement culture
Required experience
Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years’ experience in revenue reporting, financial assurance, analytics, or related finance roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring analysts or teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and BI tooling experience.
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles (IFRS 15 / ASC 606).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable requirements
- CPA / CA / ACCA qualification
- Education sector experience
- Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion experience
