Are you a seasoned payroll professional ready to make an immediate impact? Join IDP’s People Experience Team in a dynamic short-term assignment as our Payroll Experience Manager based in Melbourne, overseeing end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead payroll delivery, ensure compliance with statutory obligations, and enhance employee experience through expert stakeholder management. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and from our Melbourne office

What you will do

  • End-to-End Payroll Execution- Lead the payroll function ensuring accurate, timely payments aligned with Awards, EBAs, employment contracts, and statutory obligations.
  • Financial Integrity- Oversee payroll journals, accruals, and reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries across IDP AU & NZ, delivering responsive and informed support.

What you bring

This role calls for a seasoned payroll professional with a strategic mindset, operational rigor, and a passion for compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Well versed in PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation regulations across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Strong working knowledge of Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems, time & attendance platforms, and/or HRIS.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex payroll operations for both Australia and New Zealand.

Good to have

  • Experience with Ceridian payroll system
  • Strong data analytical skills for reporting and insights
  • Exposure to international payroll environments
