Role purpose

Are you passionate about protecting integrity and driving excellence in global education? We’re looking for a Security and Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic Business Assurance team and help safeguard the world’s most trusted English language testing system — IELTS.

As a Security and Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of IELTS operations across the Global network. You’ll conduct audits, lead investigations, and monitor compliance activities to uphold global standards. Your insights will help shape best practices and drive continuous improvement across our network.

Key responsibilities include

• Perform comprehensive audits and detailed investigations to verify adherence to test security protocols and compliance guidelines, ensuring that all procedures align with international standards.
• Proactively monitor and manage security incidents related to both Paper-Based and IELTS On Computer test formats, promptly identifying and mitigating risks to prevent breaches in test integrity.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to support the onboarding of new test centres, evaluating potential vulnerabilities and recommending controls to uphold security standards from the outset.
• Engage closely with internal teams and external partners to develop, promote, and embed best practices in security and compliance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Act as an official representative for IDP and IELTS in various partner forums, industry meetings, and internal business functions, advocating for strong security measures and collaborative problem-solving.
• Prepare and deliver accurate, clear, and actionable reports based on audit findings, investigations, and compliance monitoring to inform leadership decision-making and policy enhancements.
• Stay current with emerging threats, regulatory changes, and technological advancements within the assessment security landscape, adapting strategies accordingly to maintain IELTS's global leadership.

About You

• Solid understanding of IELTS policies, systems, and compliance processes, enabling you to navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence and precision.
• Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong organisational skills, allowing you to manage multiple concurrent tasks effectively while maintaining high standards.
• Proven expertise in report writing, with the ability to communicate findings clearly and professionally through both written documentation and verbal presentations.
• The ability to operate both independently, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement, and cooperatively within diverse team settings to achieve shared objectives.
• A readiness and willingness to undertake occasional travel as necessary, engaging with global teams and test centres to support compliance activities on-site.

Desirable:

• Strong interpersonal skills complemented by experience in stakeholder engagement across a variety of organisational levels and cultural contexts.
• Competence in conducting research and evaluations across both online and paper-based environments, contributing to well-informed compliance strategies.
• Experience in integrating audit outcomes with evaluation methodologies to enhance overall quality assurance and compliance efficacy.
