This is a role for strategic process leaders who know how to simplify complexity, accelerate value, and build enterprise capability that lasts.
Significance of the role
You will help shape the small number of critical end-to-end processes that directly influence IDP’s speed, margin, scalability, customer experience, and operational performance. Working closely with senior leaders, Product, Technology and Transformation, you will drive clarity, accountability and discipline across the enterprise.
As our Senior Process Lead you will
- Develop and implement a comprehensive process maturity framework across the organisation to drive consistent improvement and operational excellence.
- Identify and prioritise key value streams that significantly impact business performance and customer outcomes.
- Redesign and optimise processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce redundancies, and enhance the overall customer journey.
- Establish clear governance structures, decision-making rights, and accountability frameworks for global teams.
- Collaborate with digital transformation initiatives to ensure technology implementation drives process efficiency rather than replicates outdated practices.
- Create and sustain operational rhythms that transform process designs into habitual organisational behaviours and measurable performance outcomes.
What you will lead
As the Senior Process Lead, your focus will span three main areas, all critical to the advancement of IDP’s operational capability and strategic goals.
Enterprise-Level Process Transformation
- Lead the redesign of comprehensive end-to-end business processes to accelerate operational speed, ensure consistency, improve margins, and elevate customer satisfaction.
- Utilise value-based prioritisation approaches to ensure that process improvements align with measurable return on investment and strategic objectives.
- Identify operational friction points and remove legacy constraints that limit business scalability and agility.
- Establish practical standards that promote data-driven insights, continuous feedback loops, and adaptive improvement.
Operating Model Reinforcement
- Define and communicate clear ownership and accountability for each critical value stream across the enterprise.
- Clarify decision-making authorities and establish transparent escalation procedures to enhance responsiveness and governance.
- Integrate process discipline into executive reviews, product development cycles, investment choices, and performance management.
Capability Building Without Bureaucracy
- Mentor and coach leaders across functions to foster an end-to-end value mindset and collaborative problem-solving.
- Develop and provide pragmatic frameworks that simplify process management and enable sustainable adoption.
- Build enduring internal capabilities that empower continuous improvement without adding unnecessary procedural layers or bureaucracy.
About you
We seek an accomplished professional with a strong record of leading large-scale process transformation initiatives within complex, global organisations. You bring a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and inclusive leadership, including:
- At least 10 years’ experience driving process transformation, operating model innovation, or enterprise-wide change management programmes.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing business process architectures and maturity frameworks that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Exceptional skills in facilitating cross-functional collaboration, influencing senior stakeholders, and fostering consensus in matrixed environments.
- Direct experience partnering with major digital transformation initiatives, including ERP, Human Capital Management, and core platform deployments, ensuring technology enables operational excellence.
- A track record of simplifying complex challenges and embedding scalable, practical frameworks that become organisational capabilities rather than burdens.
- Demonstrated success in deploying enterprise process maturity models across diverse functions and geographies.
- A global mindset with the ability to navigate cultural and organisational complexities, building strong working relationships within a matrixed, multi-national context.
Previous experience within IDP or within the education sector is advantageous. Most importantly, you are motivated by delivering enterprise-wide value, fostering clarity, and contributing to meaningful, lasting organisational impact.

This position is offered as a fixed term contract for two years, based in Melbourne, Australia.
