Role purpose

IDP is working on a transformative initiative aimed at delivering a high-impact, low-cost solution to global learners. We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and cross-cultural experience to drive this market-facing product rollout. Talent with strong SaaS background and a proven ability to lead at the forefront of new product development, guiding from concept through development and into the global market are invited to apply.    

This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-visibility project that spans continents, integrates newly acquired companies, and delivers a product that touches every part of our business. Your leadership will span across Research, Development, Assessment, Operations, IT, Machine Learning, Marketing, Finance and Regional Leadership.

What you'll be responsible for

• Lead a complex, multi-stream project with strategic importance and global reach.
• Influence and align senior stakeholders across geographies and functions—this role operates at a Project Director level, with no direct reports but significant leadership responsibility.
• Drive delivery of a SaaS-based product with a commercial focus—this is about building for the market, not just internal tools.
• Engage with global teams across AU and EU time zones, with peak collaboration hours between 3:00–7:00 PM AEDT.
• Produce high-quality documentation, manage budgets, and ensure resource alignment.
• Represent the project at global leadership levels, contributing to IDP’s Centre of Practice for Project Managers.

What you'll bring

• 10+ years of experience in software product/project delivery, ideally in a software manufacturing or SaaS environment.
• Gravitas and calm leadership—you know how to challenge constructively, influence decisively, and engage respectfully.
• Experience working with acquired companies, navigating integration challenges and aligning diverse teams and systems.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to lead across global teams and time zones.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile) and experience managing large-scale initiatives.
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and hands-on delivery capability.

Bonus Skills:

• Background in software product manufacturing
• Exposure to broad business functions – finance, marketing, product, operations
• Familiarity with innovation and product testing
