Role purpose

We have a newly created full-time opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to be responsible for supporting the Director – Enterprise Architecture to define the program to establish, develop, maintain and leverage enterprise architecture (EA) across the organisation. The role is also responsible for defining and supporting EA processes such as the EA assurance/governance process and for leading the integration of these processes with other related business and IT processes.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of enterprise architecture, and associated domains of business, application, technology and data.

You’ll be someone who gets a kick out of being a critical member of a high performing team, personally producing outcomes that accelerates IDPs agenda to support students in their life-long study journey having a sense of urgency and fundamental commitment to quality. Required experience

Essential Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in strategy/technology/digital leadership, focused for 3+ as a functional lead involved in (or leading) the active development of enterprise architecture in a large corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies, such as TOGAF.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and traditional infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, researching, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of a business-aligned, commercially astute and comprehensive technology architecture roadmaps to achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Requirements

  • Post graduate qualifications or study in Computer Science/Technology, Business, Commerce.
  • Experience in enterprise-wide transformation and agile practices.
  • Industry recognised technical certifications such as AWS, Azure.
  • Enterprise Architecture certification (TOGAF).

Key accountabilities

Architecture:
Defining and maintaining the organization's technology architecture, strategy and roadmaps, ensuring that these align with the company's business goals and objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology innovation and develop strategies to improve the organization's overall performance.
Support the effective delivery of architecture services including business planning, IT strategy development and project delivery with the business portfolio including decision support, solution design and architecture advisory.
Promoting the EA processes, outcomes and results to the organization, including assessing and communicating the achievement and impact of the EA function.
Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions, platforms, and tools that can help improve the organisation's operational efficiency, performance and security.
Develop IT Architecture processes, policies, standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and adherence to industry best practices.
Support the uplift of Enterprise Architecture practice and provide input into the Architecture community of practice.
Governance
Maintain and drive acceptance of Enterprise Architecture principles.
Support the architecture and design governance processes and forums, ensuring decision process is transparent and aligned with Business/Strategic outcomes.
Delivery
Support solution architecture through all phases of the Global delivery lifecycle, reviewing designs to ensure alignment to the technology strategy, principles, standards and strategic direction, developing artefacts as required.
Provide standards and selection criteria for solutions across the entire application and technology landscape.
Leadership
Support a customer focused culture and a constructive environment for people development.
Provide mentoring and coaching to the broader architecture community.
May require the line management of solution architects.
Business Partnership
Engage with senior leadership across IDP to understand, interpret and propose technology enabled services and solutions to address business problems, gaps, deficiencies and opportunities.
Provide guidance, direction, and insight into technology teams on (future) needs of business units.
Reporting
Provide accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders as required - including technology health and roadmap progress.
