Role purpose

The IELTS Prep School Team Leader drives both commercial growth and team performance across Taiwan's IELTS Prep Schools (Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan). This is a dual-impact role — leading people while also achieving personal sales targets. The role requires someone who thrives on developing and inspiring others, while staying hands-on in driving revenue and student engagement.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading a motivated counselling and sales team to deliver exceptional service and results.
• Overseeing strategic and annual business planning, budgeting, and operational excellence.
• Driving growth initiatives that enhance both student outcomes and business performance.
• Ensuring every student experience reflects IDP’s high standards of quality, professionalism, and care. 

Key accountabilities

-Business & Sales Management
• Lead and implement business plans aligned with IDP’s strategic priorities and local market needs.
• Set, track, and deliver on sales KPIs — including your own individual target — while building the team’s capability to achieve collective goals.
• Identify new growth opportunities and leverage best practices across locations.
• Balance day-to-day sales responsibilities in the Taipei office with strategic leadership of the broader school network.

-Financial Management
• Contribute to the annual budget and forecast process, ensuring alignment between revenue goals and operational capability.
• Partner with Finance and Senior Management to maintain accurate pipeline and revenue forecasts.
• Monitor financial results and take proactive steps to address variances or capture new opportunities -Customer service/ Business acumen
• Promote a student-first mindset across all schools, ensuring every interaction delivers an exceptional experience.
• Partner with the Academic Director to align business development efforts with service and course offerings.
• Oversee multiple engagements across teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

-Sales Performance
• Foster a strong sales and service culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Office Managers to design effective lead generation initiatives — from events to online campaigns.
• Continuously review and enhance performance standards, ensuring consistency and excellence across all offices.

-People
• Lead, coach, and inspire the counselling and teaching teams to perform at their best.
• Create a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performance culture that recognises innovation and results.
• Support professional growth through feedback, development planning, and mentoring.
• Build a strong sense of team purpose that connects sales success with student impact.

-Communications
• Provide timely updates and insights to the Senior Manager on team performance, market shifts, and competitor activities.
• Escalate issues promptly and propose practical solutions.
• Maintain open, transparent communication across teams and functions. 

Required experience

• Strong background in sales, with proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets.
• Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams to achieve shared goals.
• Demonstrated ability to balance people leadership with personal sales accountability.
