Role purpose

We are seeking a creative, strategic, and hands-on Video Content Manager to join our growing team.

This role is critical to developing and executing a video content strategy that aligns with IDP’s brand and engages our target audiences across multiple platforms (Whatuni, Complete University Guide and Postgraduate Search). The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end production of video
content, from ideation to delivery, while ensuring all outputs are optimised to achieve business
objectives. 

Working closely with the Head of Content and Social, this role will drive innovation in video storytelling
and play a vital part in building IDP’s presence across social media, digital platforms, and campaigns.

 

Deliverables and Responsibilities

Video Content Strategy

• Develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated video content strategy, ensuring
alignment with IDP’s content, social media goals, and business objectives.

• Identify key opportunities for video content to enhance audience engagement, brand
awareness, and lead generation, especially on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram,
and LinkedIn.

• Stay updated with the latest trends in video marketing and content formats to maintain
IDP’s competitive edge.

Content Creation and Production

• Plan, script, shoot, and edit high-quality video content, including but not limited to:
o Promotional videos.
o Student testimonials and case studies.
o Explainer videos.
o Social media content (short-form for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
o Educational webinars and tutorials.

• Collaborate with internal teams (social media, marketing, design) to ensure video projects
align with broader campaigns and initiatives.

• Ensure that all content produced adheres to IDP’s brand tone, visual identity, and

Project and Team Management

• Oversee and manage the end-to-end video production process, ensuring that projects
meet deadlines, stay within budget, and maintain high-quality standards.

• Manage external freelancers, videographers, and agencies, providing briefs and oversight
to ensure alignment with IDP’s objectives.

• Maintain an organised content calendar to ensure the timely delivery of video content
across various platforms.

Performance Analysis and Optimisation

• Monitor, track and analyse video performance across platforms, identifying key metrics
(views, engagement, conversions) and deriving insights to optimise future content.

• Conduct A/B testing on video formats, styles, and platforms to maximise reach and
audience engagement.

• Maintain a consistent feedback loop with the Head of Content and Social to align
strategies with performance outcomes.

  • Proven experience in video content strategy, production, and distribution.
  • Hands-on expertise with video production tools and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong storytelling skills and an eye for creating visually engaging content.
  • Experience producing content for multiple platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends and how to adapt video content for various audiences and platforms.
  • Knowledge of youth marketing or experience creating content for students and young adults.
  • Familiarity with SEO and video optimization techniques.
  • Intermediate graphic design or animation skills (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience working in a global or multicultural organization.
